Welcome. My name is Barney Walters, I am a freelance photographer specialising in natural yet stylised Wedding Photography. Based out of Cornwall in the South West of the UK, I photograph weddings throughout Cornwall, Devon, Somerset and the UK as a whole. Surrey, Dorset, Stratford and London are a few of the other counties in which I have photographed weddings recently. My approach to wedding photography is one which reflects true storytelling, some would say I am a documentary wedding photographer, but this is not the case. Yes, I hide in the shadows for a large part of your day but I also use time effectively to photograph you and your new spouse together in a ‘posed’ manor where desired. As well as being a wedding photographer, I am also available to shoot portraits either on location around the South West, or in my portable studio based in Cornwall. Being a portrait photographer and indeed a wedding photographer is, for me, about installing confidence in my subjects to react naturally in front of the camera, as if I wasn’t their. As a photographer I choose to use photographic equipment and techinques that puts distance between me and my subject to give you space. When it comes to portraiture I class myself as a lifestyle photographer because in my eyes I’m photographing a part of your natural life. I make suggestions but don’t pose you.

Travel photography is something that fills my time when not photographing weddings, families, models or our beautiful landscape in the South West. Travel is something I have always had a passion for and you can find out more about the places I have visited on my Bio page. Oh, and I am also happy to fly for weddings too!
I started my photography business at the age of 16 and by the time I turned 17 I was shooting weddings professionally. Just two years and 50 weddings later I am now an award winning member of the Society of Wedding & Portrait Photographers and am also a freelance photographer for the Fine Art Wedding Photography company Harrera Images run by Andy Green. My aim is to provide you, my clients, with the best photographic memories of your wedding day possible and to exceed your expectations not only of your wedding photographs, but also of the smoothness that your day runs.
